MSAD9, Mallet School, to complete a 20 hour
service learning experience.

Disability Simulation, REH110. Reflection
In an Introduction to Disabilities course, we
experienced three days on campus what it
would be like in a wheelchair. This was a difficult
simulation and certainly an eye opener as to how
sudden change can occur. To every student, this
experience may have been different. It all depends on
how seriously one took it, and I was able to gain a lot
from this experience.

Technology/Media Projects
I have created two videos in my years
spent at UMF. In REC140, Therapeutic
Recreation, I created a video about the
use of therapeutic humor and how it is
beneficial for those living with Depression.
More recently in REH480, Senior Seminar, I
created an informational movie about Maine
Handicapped Skiing for potential participants.
Through the years I have created multiple PowerPoint
presentations and other types of media, including a
guided imagery tape for relaxation using the Gestalt
theory, focusing on the here and now.

CONCLUSION AND REFLECTION

Putting this digital portfolio together has been both an enjoyable and insightful experience. It has given me the chance to truly see how my work has progressed over the three years I have spent at The University of Maine at Farmington. It also gave me the chance to look into my life and visualize what really matters to me so that others can see it as well. Although it is always enjoyable to write papers and give presentations for classes, I am a very creative and artistic person and I enjoyed every moment spent in the Computer Center working on this project.
