REH 110 Introduction to Disabilities
This assignment at first was very intimidating for me because my senior year of high school I broke my leg limiting my mobility. I had in only in the slightest sense experienced the frustrations people using wheelchairs encounter. After spending fourty eight hours in a wheelchair my eyes were opened to see just how inaccessible the University of Maine at Farmington and town truly are.
REH 310 Casework
Instead of having a traditional final at the end of casework we had to complete an intake. This intake was the last of three required in the class and demostrated all the skills I had learned on the two previous.
One of the bigger projects in casework was creating a resource directory. I chose to focus on the elderly population because I feel like the western society just puts elderly in nursing homes, when in reality there are a lot more options. In my directory I found a lot of interesting services for a population that is near and dear to my heart.

REH 200 Counseling and the Helping Relationship
This paper allowed me to explore the different counseling theories and theorists whom I admire. This class was taken during a May term and as a result I bonded very tightly with my class and teacher.
REH 205 Group Process
I have always been very passionate about working with kids because of the wisdom you gain from them. In order to really understand how a group is run we had to create a group we would want to lead and create a budget. This assignment I think shows my creativity with a small budget.
REH 380 Junior Seminar
This paper truly allowed me to reflect on the past three years of schooling and figure out a plan for the "real world". I really took the time to reflect on my strengths and assess my personal goals.

REC 140 Introduction to Therapeutic Recreation
During a class session of Recreation 140, we played games and sports then brainstormed how to make games easier for people living with disabilities. It was here that my idea for a color blind friendly Twister board was born. The project itself taught me how with a little bit of money and effort you can turn a barrier into an accessible item.
