About Me/Introduction

My name is Samantha Hackett. I was born in Massachusetts and grew up in Maine where I graduated from Dexter Regional High School in 2007. I am currently a Sophomore at the University of Maine at Farmington and I am in the Elementary Education program. I have a concentration in Language Arts. This semester, I completed my professional semester as a Practicum student. I was able to work in a second grade classroom and it was very exciting and so much fun! This was my first time ever working hands on in a classroom and I loved every second of it. Looking back at this semester, I am very pleased with all of the information that I have learned.
I have created this portfolio to demonstrate how what I have learned and created in my first years at UMF apply to the Maine Standards for Initial Teacher Certification.
