About the Unit
This unit is designed for seventh grade students.  This unit would follow a mini unit on the Civil War.  It is designed for students that had a larger unit on the Civil War the year prior to this so the students will have a foundation to build off of.  This unit will help students get an in depth understanding of the Union and Confederacy while focusing on one particular battle.  Students will be using researching/citation skills, Google Earth, and Frames to complete their task.  All of these programs, with the exclusion of Google Earth, they have worked with before.  Google Earth is new to them and we will spend a bit of time playing around with the program before we dive into working with it.  This unit is designed to be taught over two month period.  Students will have U.S. History for 60 minutes every other day.  There is no issue with computers and software because each student has access to a computer with all of the software on it.
You can see an example of the final product here.
