Task
You live in Maryland during the Civil War, a state that has always been undecided during the war.  A local newspaper wants to run an article about the Battle of Gettysburg, but since they are so divided, they want to incorporate an article from each point of view.  Your task is to gather as much information as you know and write an article about what your side is going through after the Battle of Gettysburg.  With your teammates, combine these articles and print your newspaper.

Process
1.  We will begin by using the websites listed on this page and this Research Worksheet to gather information.  This information will be very useful to you when you begin writing your article.

2.  Now that you know where the troops were and where the battle took place, we are going to take a look at these locations using Google Earth.  Click here for the worksheet that we will be filling out while we do this.

3.  On your research team, you will have three members, each person will be writing a different article.  One team member will be in favor of the North (the Union), one team member will be in favor of the South (the Confederacy), and one team member will be indifferent and will write a neutral article in which they do not choose a side.

4.  After you write your article, go online and find some pictures (a minimum of five) that represent your opinion.  Use these pictures to make a movie in Frames.  Your Frames project must be at least 30 seconds in length and must contain at least 5 pictures.  These pictures must to relevant to the side that you are arguing for.
