Process

Step One:

Students are to start researching credible resources in order to gain credible information for their iMovie presentation.
Make sure that all the information you use has correct citations whenever you use other peoples facts within your iMovie or oral presentation.
Use the following resources in order to help you create your presentation along the way,
Just remember using this information does not make it yours! Use of proper MLA citation is very important with using intellectual property.

Here are some sites that will help you with your process:

Gun Control

(For) The Brady Campaign. The main goal of the Brady Campaign is the prevention of gun violence within the United States, for the safety of families, schools, workplaces, and the communities in which we all live. Included is a score card for the state of Maine and the status for our state’s gun laws, as well as external links to help you with your search.
(Against) National Rifle Association. In support of Americans 2nd amendment rights is this interest groups main goal, also any law or movement opposing the use of fire-arms or any subject related (such as hunting lands, wildness protection, or citizen marksmanship) is also covered in this website. This site also includes options to learn more about the state of Maine’s policies on gun controls.

Abortion

(For) National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League An organization, which supports women’s privacy and also a woman's right to choose.
(Against) National Right to Life. An organization about the protection of human life, but they are not concerned with issues such as capital punishment, or national defense. They are concerned with euthanasia and infanticide, as well as the abortion “controversy.”

Step Two:

Students are to take the information they used and create a brief iMovie presentation trying to persuade the general Maine population to side with their cause. If not sure what exactly i'm going to be looking for while grading the presentation all the information is on the evaluation page.

Step Three:

Once the iMovies are completed, the videos will be presented in front a select group of town meeting members and will be brought to vote. If the majority votes the presentation effective it will be brought to Maine's state legislature to be voted into law.

Step Four:

Once the videos have been presented the ballots will be passed back, and the group will have to assess themselves on their effectiveness.
After assessing the group work, individuals must be assessed for their particular input to the presentation.
