Inspirations Rubric

Excellent
(each section is worth 1 points)
Proficient
(each topic is 2 points)
Incomplete
(each topic is 1 point)
Content Main concepts are clearly defined. The subcategories branch off the main concept and are organized and easy to follow. The main concept is identified, and the subcategories are mostly organized and categorized in the appropriate place with only a few minor exceptions.  Main concepts are not easily identified, and the subcategories are not used appropriately. The subcategories are not organized into sections and are spread out in no dicernable pattern.
Linkage The links are facing the right way, they connect related terms, and clearly show the relationships between the concepts. Most of the links are facing the right way and describe correctly the relationship between concepts  (again only minor mistakes). The links are facing the wrong way, and they do not correctly show the relationship between concepts.
Graphics  The colors/pictures are used appropriately and make sense. These graphics do not detract from the web, but instead helps the reader understand what they are looking at.  The graphics help enhance the project. They are of good quality and are mostly placed in the appropriate places (few minor mistakes), and they do not detract from the outline.  The pictures and colors are not appropriate. There is no logical reason why the pictures or the colors are used. They detract the reader from the web and do not aid the reader's comprehension.
Format The font is consistent, the colors are approriate, and the web is easy to understand. The format is organized, easy to read, and appropriately sized. For the most part, the font is consistent (with maybe a few errors), the colors are used in the correct way, and everything is organized. The font is not consistant, there is no organization, it is not easy to read, and the font is not sized correctly. The web is not organized and everything is very cluttered.

Podcast and Script

Excellent
(each topic is 3 points)
Proficient
(each topic is 4 points)
Incomplete
(each topic is 3 point)
Script The script is typed up, includes a lot of details and important facts, has no spelling errors, and is logical. The script is typed up, has details and facts but could have a little more, has minor mechanical errors, and is written in a logical way. The script is typed up, but includes very little detail. Very few facts are included, and there are many mechanical errors.
Art work Art work is relevant, and is synchronized with the audio. There are lots of pictures and all of them match what is going on or being said. The art work makes sense,  it is synchronized with the audio most of the time, and where the pictures are placed is logical. There are few errors, but there need to be more pictures. The art work is not relevant and is not synchronized at all. There is no logical reason for the pictures.
Audio The speech is easily heard, and the person speaking is clear and concise. The audio keeps to the topic, is in logical order, and adds to the mood of the music (if there is any) and to the pictures. The speech is clear and easily heard, with a few minor mistakes by the speaker. The audio keeps, for the most part, to the topic, and is in logical order (except for a few minor times). The person speaking is not clear and the words cannot be understood. The audio does not pertain to the topic, and does not enhance the project.
Information Lots of information and details were added. The information used was logical and well-put together. The tone of the piece is persuasive, and the information given is well thought out. Several facts are mentioned and details are added, but there could be more information. Some of the information is unesseccary. However, the information used was logical and made sense. Very few facts or details were used. The information given was not organized logically and it is obvious that very little time went into preparing for this project.
Group Partner Work The groups worked well together, and were on task when given time to work. Each person contributed to the group, and it is obvious that the group put some effort into the project. Each person has a role to do. The groups worked well together, and for the most part, were on task although the teacher had to talk to them a couple of times. Each person contibuted, but not everyone has a role. The group did not work well together. They were off task and had to be talked to several times. None of them put any time into this project and the end result was sloppy.

Persuasive Paper Rubric

  Excellent
(each one is worth 6 points)
Proficient Incomplete
Introduction It engages the reader and broacasts what the paper is going to be about. There is a clear and relevant thesis that sets the rest of the paper up. The introduction is clear and sets the stage for the rest of the paper. The thesis does state what the paper will be about but it is too vague. The thesis needs to be narrowed down a little bit, and needs to be a little more clear. The introduction does not set up the rest of the paper. It is not organized and the thesis sentence is weak.
Organization Each paragraph is connected to the introduction and there is a good use of citations in the paper. The paper is written in a logical way, with each paragraph connecting to the paragraph above it. The paper is written in a logical way, but the major points will be presented with less detail and facts. Each paragraph is connected to the introduction, and citations are used in the paper (with only a few minor mistakes such as formatting). There is no organization. There are few if any real paragraphs and the paper does not flow, but is choppy and illogical. There are few facts or details presented, and the paragraphs do not link back to the thesis sentence. No citations, or few citations are used.
Conclusion Restates what the point of the paper was, and reviews all major points in a clever way. It restates the point of the paper, but is not written in an orignal way. There are too many words and it is not as concise as it could be. The conclusion has nothing to do with the rest of the paper, is not clear or consise and does not review the major facts presented earlier.
Format The font is times new roman, size 12, double spaced. There are at least 4 paragraphs, and each paragraph is indented. Name, date, and class is written in the upper left hand corner, and at the end of the paper, is the bibliography. Only missing one or two of the formatting details that were presented. The name is on the paper, and the bibliography is included. Did not follow the format given at all. The font is not the right font or size, and is not double spaced. There is are very few resources for the bibliography or it is not included at all.
Mechanicals There are no spelling errors! Grammar, punctuation, and correct usage of words are all included. There are very few errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar. There are lots of spelling and grammatical erroers, and punctuation was not used correctly.

Worksheet Rubric
Google Earth/ Research Questions

Excellent
(worth 5 points for each section)
Incomplete
(does not get any points)
Content Used complete sentences and proper punctuation. There are many details and facts incorporated, and it is obvious that the student put a lot of time and thought into it. The student did not use complete sentences or proper punctuation. There was very little detail incorporated into the answers.
Preparation/ Class time usage Student was efficient and used class time productively.  Student wasted time and did not finish in class.

Wiki Rubric
Excellent
(each one is worth 4  points)
Poor
(each one is worth 1 point)
Visual Appeal The wiki looks nice, has lots of pictures, is colorful and is not cluttered. It is easy to read! The font is big enough to see but not so big that it is obnoxious and the colors are bright, but not so that it detracts from the information on the Wiki. The wiki looks cluttered or does not have enough on it. The font is hard to read,  there are no visuals or colors or there is so much that it makes it hard to read. The colors and fonts are not consistant.
Organization The wiki is well organized. Each major project is organized into a section. The papers are with their bibliography etc. Everything is scattered and is not logically put together. Items that are similar are not located together and there is no rhyme or reason for why a certain thing is put in a certain place.
Hyperlinks to sources  Included are hyperlinks to pictures, websites, and podcast. There are no hyperlinks that link to websites, pictures, or the podcast.
Content Everything that should be included is. There should be a paper, script, podcast, inspiration web, student websites, and bibliographies included.Very few errors in spelling, grammar, or punctuation. Missing a few items that should be located on the Wiki. Also, lots of errors in spelling, grammar, or punctuation.

Use of Class Time Rubric

Excellent
(worth 25 points)
each day students gets 1 point
Poor
(each day student will lose a point)
Class Usauge Student is prepared, focused and works on completing assignment. Student cooperates with peers and teacher. Student is not focused and chats with friends, and disrupts class. Student is not prepared, does not cooperate with others, and gets nothing done during class.
