What Those in Favor of the Ban are Saying
- This initiative
isn't about the smoker, it's about the negative health effects of
environmental tobacco smoke on developing children
- They believe that people who are against this ban are being close minded, irrational
and selfish
- Cannot believe that if it is known that ETS harms children enough to
warrant a ban on it, why would anyone possibly want to smoke around
their kids
- Believe that smoking in small enclosed environments, such as the car, with children present is a form of child abuse
- This isn't a matter of 'rights', smoking ia a freedom. Unfortunately
for the smoker, this is standing up for the children's freedoms instead of for the smokers' freedoms.
- They are tired of hearing arguments that are not relevant to the
topic at hand. Arguments such as, 'why don't we just ban driving,
or children, or thinking altogether' that are in place instead of actually making a
valid point against the ban.
- They mention the cost of healthcare in terms of tobacco. They
advocate for the ban because it can improve future health for the
children and potentially lower healthcare costs for everyone
