St.Rose of Lima Fall Pick-Up Days:
As being a member of the Youth Group for my local catholic church, every fall in October for two weekends the group would rake and pickup the outside of homes at local residents. It was a very fun and motivating experience. From these experiences of helping local residents, it influenced my decision of realizing the importance of helping people.

Served monthly meals in halfway house:
As part of being involved in a youth group a few of us decided we wanted to do something outside of our community. We volunteered through a catholic charity halfway home, in which we cooked, served, and ate dinner with the people who resided there. Out of all life experiences, by far this was the most life-changing experience a human can experience.
Big Brother Big Sister Program:
In high school for three consecutive years, I was a big sister to a child in the elementary school, and two students in the middle school. From this experience I learned a lot about self-confidence, and realizing how tough it can be for students when going through difficult times. I really enjoyed spending time with these little sisters and getting to know, and also for them understanding the person I was.
Special Olympics:
Jay High School in Jay, Maine every spring would host the spring Special Olympics. Apart of being an active student, a peer tutor/mentor it was my pride to take a step forward and volunteer at these events. I will not forget to see the smiles and joy the participants had on their faces. Volunteering at Special Olympics really shaped the person that I am today.

Good Shepard Food Bank:
Apart of graduation requirements at Jay, our class decided to spend a day at the Good Shepard Food Bank. While I was there at the food bank, we all went our own ways in groups, and did work such as restocking shelves, and unpacking food. This was a great experience to realize the importance of having food banks to assist families in the surrounding communities.

Lunch Buddies:
|
During first semester attended here at the University of Maine at Farmington, I was a Lunch Buddy at the Mallet School in Farmington, Maine. Once a week for an hour I would spend time with an individual, eat lunch, and do some sort of special activity for the second half of the time I was there. It was a great experience to have and know how much of a difference people can make in children's lives.
