Students will be graded on the criteria outlined in the following rubrics:

Mechanics-15%
There are no spelling or punctuation errors in the final draft.
There are 2-3 spelling or punctuation errors in the final draft.

There are 6 or more spelling and punctuation errors in the final draft.
Writing Process-10%
Student devotes a lot of time and effort to the writing process (prewriting, drafting, reviewing, and editing).
Student devotes sufficient time and effort to the writing process (prewriting, drafting, reviewing, and editing).
Student devotes some time and effort to the writing process but was not very thorough.
Student devotes little time and effort to the writing process.
Stays on Topic-10%
The entire story is related to the assigned topic and allows the reader to understand much more about the topic.
Most of the story is related to the assigned topic. The story wanders off at one point, but the reader can still learn something about the topic.
Some of the story is related to the assigned topic, but a reader does not learn much about the topic.
No attempt has been made to relate the story to the assigned topic.

Facial expressions and body language are used to try to generate enthusiasm, but seem somewhat faked.
Very little use of facial expressions or body language. Did not generate much interest in topic being presented.
Speaks Clearly-10%
Speaks clearly and distinctly all of the time.

Presentation is 5-7 minutes long.
