Welcome to your briefing for the latest assignment!

You and your two team mates are members of a documentary film studio which is preparing to send filmers back in time to various important democratic milestones in history.  Through your skill on the job, you and your team mates have been chosen to go observe the Magna Carta Era, the time in English history when the rights of the king were limited by his subjects.  This is an important task as this bill was one of the milestones in democratic history; proper documentation of this event could win the studio, and you, several awards at the next Emmys.  As you will be deep into English society you need to brush up on your history of the Magna Carta time period: the events that have happened recently, the events that are happening, and the general feelings among the populace.  There are three major groups you need to be studying as these will be the people you are working most closely with:

First and foremost you need to study the history of King John who was the major player in the signing of the Magna Carta
King John

Secondly and equally as important you need to brush up on your knowledge of the barons

and finally, but equally as important, you need to get caught up on your knowledge of the peasants during the time as you will probably be spending a lot of time with them.

You must go through this WebQuest and properly research each group’s position in English culture, their beliefs about the Magna Carta, how it would affect them positively, and how it would affect them negatively.  Try and find connections between the desires of the 3 groups.  You may split the work as you see fit, however each of you must have researched equally, you can't rely on the others when you are back in 13th century England can you?
If you do not research properly you might get into major trouble while on site, or your video may come out hokey and uninteresting to the general populace of our own time.
