You
have read Arthur Miller’s "The Crucible," analyzed and discussed
characters and events as well as similar events throughout history. Now, bring yourself back to the present. As literary analysists, your task is to become experts on a current issue that deals with intolerance and/or hysteria; you will have to draw parallels to "The Crucible." You must convince an audience of mixed opinions -conservatives, liberals and everything in between- that the side you chose is the correct one. Amongst them is a group of editors from a well-known literary magazine looking for material to publish in their next issue: Looking at Literature from a Different Angle. You must also be able to answer the audience's questions, which will come from all angles, in hopes that you will be chosen by the editors. |
